Teachers Clinic was wonderful and a great opportunity for me as a first-year teacher.
—Greenville, NC
President Troy Shoemaker speaking in a classroom

Note from the President

As teachers and office staff, students and parents come to you for answers. But sometimes, you’re the one with the questions. Abeka’s on-campus Teachers Clinic provides training and tips that give you the support you need.

Through sessions and classroom observation, secondary, elementary, kindergarten, and nursery teachers gain practical training for specific age groups. Office staff will learn tips for procedures, records, orientation, and more.

You’ll leave with ideas for teaching, class procedures, and classroom management you can put into practice right away. Even experienced teachers find new ideas and inspiration—just like the other thousands of educators who’ve attended from across the world.

Come glean from over 70 years of teaching experience. You’ll find Teachers Clinic a real benefit to your ministry.

Troy A. Shoemaker, Ed.D.
President

FAQs

Who can attend Teachers Clinic?

Teachers Clinic is available for Christian school teachers and office staff.

Would this be beneficial for a school that uses multiple curricula, rather than just Abeka?

While the clinic is specifically meant to be a help to Abeka users, the principles covered are beneficial for any Christian school teaching with traditional education methods.

When is the latest I can register?

For the October 15–16 event, register online by Wednesday, October 14, at 8 a.m. CT.

For the October 19–20 event, register online by Friday, October 16, at 8 a.m. CT.

What is your vendor number? The public school board will pay for us to attend Teachers Clinic.

We are unable to accept government funds of any kind.

Can we purchase meals for a spouse who is not attending the sessions?

Meals for the clinic are limited to delegates only. Your spouse could purchase individual meals at the College dining facilities, but the clinic delegates will be eating in other locations.

When we attend the clinic, may we bring high school students to see Pensacola Christian College? How do I register the students?

Yes, you may! To register any high school students, visit pcci.edu/tours or contact us at 850-969-1696 for more information. Note that residence hall lodging is not available.

How do we notify you of changes, cancellations, or additions?

For any changes, cancellations, or additions to your group, please call 850-969-1631.

When do I need to cancel to get a refund?

If canceling, contact us before check-in at 850-969-1631 so we can issue a refund.

May we preview or purchase Abeka materials while we are there?

Yes, many materials will be on display for you to review. A few items may be individually purchased and larger orders may be placed and then shipped to your school. No cash purchases.

How many contact hours will I receive?

Each track offers up to 10 contact hours.

When will I receive my contact hour certificates?

Contact hour certificates will be emailed to each recipient within a few weeks after the clinic.

How do I access the event on the Whova app?

You’ll receive an email a few days before the event with information on logging into the Whova app. If you need to change your email address, please contact the Reservation Office at 850-969-1631.

How do Guest Cards work?

Participants are issued Guest Cards at check-in, which allow tap access on the Pensacola Christian College campus and the Pensacola Christian Academy Bookstore. Money may also be added to the card account to make purchases on the PCC campus and at the PCA Bookstore.

How do I add money to my Guest Card?

Cash or credit/debit cards may be used to add funds to Guest Card accounts at any of the add-value stations on the Pensacola Christian College campus. These stations are located in the Sports Center, Commons, and the Academic Center. Note that funds cannot be added to the card account until the card is issued at check-in.

Can cash or credit/debit cards be used for purchases instead of the Guest Card?

Yes! Note that some locations at Pensacola Christian College may accept only Guest Cards and some locations at Pensacola Christian Academy accept only cash or credit/debit cards.

How do I check the balance on my Guest Card account?

Guest Card account balances may be checked at any add-value machine on the Pensacola Christian College campus.

How should I care for my Guest Card?

Handle your Guest Card with the same care you would a personal debit/credit card. Do not store your Guest Card with your cell phone, near a wireless charger, or by anything magnetic, since this may damage the electronic chip inside your card. Do not punch holes in the card or allow the card to be bent, scratched, or left in extreme temperatures.

I lost my Guest Card. What should I do?

Lost Guest Cards must be reported immediately to Card Services (Pensacola Christian College, Academic Center, AC 112) or the Information Desk (Pensacola Christian College, Administration Building, 1st floor) to protect your funds. When a card is lost or stolen, the account balance is not protected until the card is officially reported missing and deactivated, so do so promptly. The card account balance from the time of the deactivation will be available for use on your replacement card. If you have received a replacement Guest Card and later find your original, the original should be cut up and discarded immediately. Only the most recently issued Guest Card will be valid for accessing campus or purchasing.

What happens to the leftover funds on my Guest Card account at the end of the event?

Leftover funds may be refunded by visiting the Cashier’s Office (Pensacola Christian College, Administration Building, 1st floor) with your Guest Card Monday–Friday between 7:45 a.m. and 4 p.m. Funds expire if left on the Guest Card account after the event and will be donated to PCC.
